Boys in Tech

Yes. You read that correctly. There is a new group in the Boise Valley, Boys in Tech (the group formerly known as TechBoise). Tonight at TechBoise, the boys outnumbered the girls by 1, 2, 3…well it was a lot. [Even though the topic was TechEd, we at TechBoise are not afraid to admit that we do not get 'new math'.]
Let us put it another way. There were 4 girls in attendance (and 2 of them were panelists with the program).
“Really?” you ask in utter amazement. It’s true!
What gives? Is it because all our techie sisters enjoyed their biggest turnout yet at the previous week’s fantastic Girls in Tech event? Maybe there is a lot of last minute candy buying and costuming occurring for the fast approaching Halloween? Perhaps the sudden drop in temperature and seemingly gale force winds were too much to deal with on a Wednesday? Maybe pizza and beer for dinner didn’t quite hit the spot?
All we can say is that we are sorry you missed out. We learned about some great opportunities to get involved in science, math and entrepreneurial activities with the youth in our community.
The Boise Valley tech community is only as strong as its members. Lucky for us, we have a lot of opportunities to get involved, network, share, collaborate, eat and drink.
Schedules do get hectic, especially this time of year.
Hopefully, everyone can still find time for a little fun and join us at the November/December event set for the FIRST Wednesday of December (for those keeping score or looking at a calendar, that is December 2nd). Stay tuned for details.
We hope to see more of you boys and girls in tech in the Boise Valley (or at least some of you). If not, Boise Valley, “let’s get ready to rumble!”
Disclaimer: Krissa is part of Girls in Tech and just so happened to be in attendance at Boys in Tech (ahem, TechBoise) tonight.
