Toward a More Entrepreneurial Idaho Education System

Notes from August 28 Listening Session with Karen McGee
(executive director, Idaho State Board of Education)

Planning to have more - Very productive - notes appended below. Will keep you posted re future meetings.

Two key takeaways from Tuesday are:
a) need to start rounding up volunteers to be role models -- speakers at Idaho high schools & junior highs. (hint, hint...)

b) more youth entrepreneurship, starting with a long look at Junior Achievement. (If any of you have any experience, again we're all ears.)

The time has come to start seriously thinking about a "trade association" for Idaho innovators. Mark October 11 on your calendar, 10am-3pm, Riverside Doubletree.

This is for entrepreneurs by entrepreneurs. If you are not private sector **, you can attend but you might get seriously bored.

a quickie here... a phenomenon that we might all want to think about...

the really short version:

1) Don't assume that others know the same things you do. Even when they should.

2) Don't assume you are an expert, unless you can prove it. (And certainly don't claim to be.)

3) If you don't have the expert mindset, never assume you are right. And maybe not even if you do, lol.
