Mercaldo sells stake in Gold Link Media to start Mesch Media

Many of you may remember Ken Dey's article about Gold Link Media that ran just 7 short weeks ago. Some may find it weird that since that time Josh Mercaldo has sold his stake in the company and has now started his own media consultancy, Mesh Media. In that interview Josh said:

Here’s my news tip for Boise (especially any elected or wannabe/soon to be elected officials):

LaserJet’s and DRAM are not going to carry the valley like they once did.

Can we expect to see more layoffs in Boise? It's too hard to realistically predict any specific events tied to any specific market activity. Maybe not now.

Why are tech entrepreneurs moving to Boise?

I meet a lot of people these days that are moving to Boise to start their next tech business. I recently asked s good friend, Dave Clemons, President of LearnKey why he is doing business here in Boise. Here's his response:

Pronetos' own Chris Blanchard posted a guest blog over at the Silicon Florist. It's a great blog that focuses on technology startups in the Portland area (someone should do that for Boise).

Chris does a great job of ppointing out many of the similarities between Boise and Portland start ups.

Last year I went on the INL tour and was really impressed with the aggressiveness that INL was licensing of their technology and also working to get companies to move their little corner of the world.

I don't know how much INL played in the decision for Areva to move to Eastern Idaho but I do think that it is a great move for the State.
