Could Clean-Tech be Idaho's first Cluster?

While clean-tech is a bit of a buzz-word right now, when I talk about clean-tech I'm referring to the technology behind the application of alternative energy.  There seems to be an awful lot of  clean-tech happening in the state.  Granted there is A LOT of clean-tech everywhere right now, but is this something Idaho can stake a claim in?

Alternative energy is an obvious hot topic right now.

When I talk to fellow Boiseans about what's needed to jump start our local tech ecosystem, we all agree that we have all the right pieces.

Boise has great entrepreneurs. We have great companies, ranging from the big guys down to the fresh start-up. We have good support organizations and service providers. We have talented people and are attracting new people with great experience from the more tech developed coastal areas. We even have readily accessible early stage funding.

MetaGeek has been making a lot of progress over the last year.  They are finally graduating from the BSU TECenter and getting their own place, They are now up to 8 employees, they have a new CEO, Bob Deely (formerly of Ox/Gen), founder Ryan Woodings is now CTO and their release of the inSSIDer has gained

Of all the events Kickstand does this is by far the one I hear the most good stuff about.  Every entrepreneur I talk to who has pitched their idea at the speed dating events always walks away with invaluable feedback.

A business plan is a valuable exercise for entrepreneurs to go through but if you're raising money the pitch is the most important part.

For the month of October TechBoise is moving locations. We are still having our event on the 29th, the last Wednesday of the month as always (this seems to be hard to remember for some reason). This time the event will start at 6:30.

Step 3. Activate functionality

Step 4. Start publishing content

Choose a different design

Configure the front page

The default front page is a listing of all content marked as Promoted to front page. You can manage your content from the content administration page. You can also add a slogan and mission statement to make the site your own.
