Boise’s CheckaBiz Featured in Business Week

J. Glerum’s company, Boise Based CheckaBiz was recently featured in Business Week.

J. Glerum wrote his final law school paper on music-sharing Web site Kazaa, spent a few months working at law firms, and then in 2005 left the legal world behind to start his own dot-com: Boise-based Check a Biz. Consumers can use the site to comment on local businesses, and businesses will be able to buy monthly subscriptions to find out when those comments are particularly good or bad. Now Glerum wants to expand and needs to raise capital to do so.

You can read the whole story here: Feedback Central? . Congrats J.

Well done - and well said:

” Glerum is willing to take that risk. “I’d rather have a small slice of a big pie than a large part of a small pie,” he says. “I’m looking for money, but even more, I’m looking for the experience of an investor.”

Maybe I’d better go rate some more businesses, eh? Kudos, J!

Congratulations, J. I (and evidently many others) sincerely hope that you’ll be drinking from the fire hose in no time at all! Way to go!

Thanks Leo. Thanks Norris.

It’s been pretty exciting around here lately with this recent press. All sorts of people from around the country are showing interest in the site (either by signing up and rating businesses, submitting member raves, by emailing me personally and offering remarkably in depth advice, or just by offering to sell me something :)) Regardless, I appreciate all the support and try hard to reciprocate it as much as possible.

And Norris, by all means keep those reviews coming. They are fun to read! You are well on your way to becoming the resident Coffee Shop Expert on Check a Biz.
