Boise Code Camp and Tech Fest... it's not just for programmers!

You may know about the free, community-powered "Code Camp" event coming next month, March 28th at Boise State University. In 2008 Boise Code Camp was one of the largest such events in the west, attracting over 400.

What you may not know: the event moves in a new direction in 2009. This year some sessions are categorized "Tech Fest", and are not just for developers, developers, developers:

I also obviously failed to note that Boiseans have a habit of being late to the party.

Northwest Energy Innovation Summit 2009 [Day 1]

  • Global electricity demand will grow to 2X by 2030.
  • Clean water demands will grow by 3X in that same time frame.
  • Why the low enrollment at the College of Western Idaho?

Last week's news that the College of Western Idaho had not met enrollment targets represented a stunning bit of news for the tens-of-thousands of Treasure Valley residents who went to the polls to support creation of the Valley's first community college.
