January 27- StartUp Weekend grads Yaro chat with TechBoise

Get your ducks in a row with Yaro

It's January! Are you stoked? Yeah, us either. There seems to be a general malaise about the City of Trees that can only be cured by one thing. We need a hero, folks.

And guess what - There's a little ray of sunshine in Boise's Tech scene. It's called Yaro, and it came out of November's Startup Weekend. Yaro's mantra, "Swimming in a sea of social media publishing? Get your ducks in a row with Yaro," was created to address the issues facing those of us using multiple social media platforms for personal and business "needs." Jana Briggs, CEO and Co-founder of Yaro (and self-proclaimed social media junkie), along with Karl Meinhardt, Yaro Board Member, will take us through Yaro's journey - from pitch to development and beyond - and let us in on where they now stand.

This will all happen on Wednesday January 27, 5:30pm, at the Watercooler. . (Link to map), 14th and Idaho. We're still looking for a sponsor, so if your company has a few bucks to pony up for drinks and pizza, we'll make it worth your while with plenty of love. Email techboise@gmail.com if you're up for it!

The Idaho Void in the Twitter Trend Map

Ok, all you tweeters in Boise and beyond - why are your tweets not showing up on the Trendsmap?

The map shows real time tweets (supposedly). While there is some interesting stuff that pops up (some people are already talking about Christmas), there is a huge void over Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and the Dakotas. What gives?

As if the Iowa/Idaho confusion wasn't enough, now this - people across the country can't see what's on Boiseans/Idahoans minds. Unacceptable!

Get to it and stake your claim on the map!

Jason Crawforth's newest project

2008 was a busy year for serial entrepreneur, Jason Crawforth, even by Jason's standards.

He completed the Executive MBA program at BSU.

Jason is part owner with his brother in the Pie Hole and The Lush and opened a second Pie Hole location by BSU.

He sold his business, Treetop Technologies, to MobileData Force, where he still serves on the board.

But that wasn't enough for Jason, he had to add one more accomplishment to 2008

Metageek Releases Chanalyzer 3.1 for Wi-Spy 2.4x

Boise, ID - Today Metageek released the latest in a string of revolutionary wireless devices, the Chanalyzer 3.1. From CEO Ryan Woodings:

Chanalyzer turns data collected from the Wi-Spy 2.4x into highly interactive charts and graphs, allowing users to actually “visualize” their wireless landscape. Together, Wi-Spy 2.4x and Chanalyzer 3.1 enable both business and home users to visualize, troubleshoot, and optimize their Wi-Fi (wireless fidelity) networks.

With Chanalyzer 3.1 you don't need to waste your time watching real-time RF activity to troubleshoot.

Tsheets getting new media coverage

This week will probably be, Meridian based, Tsheets biggest server load week yet.

On Monday Tsheets was featured in TechCrunch. For those not in the Web 2.0 media world, TechCrunch is the Web startup version of the Wall Street Journal. It's a pretty big deal.
