INL presenting in Seattle at Beyond Oil: Transforming Transportation
Got this from Gallatin Public Affairs:
We are happy to share an upcoming event that you might find of interest. Next week, Gallatin’s client Idaho
National Laboratory is co-sponsoring with Microsoft and Cascadia Institute a conference examining the implications of transitioning to the electric car. “Beyond Oil” is the fifth in an annual series of conferences on the topics of transportation, technology and energy.
Idaho National Laboratory plays a key part in the electric vehicle story. Its Advanced Vehicle Testing Activity will test 160 vehicles located in automobile fleets around the country by year end. The primary goal of AVTA is to provide benchmark data for technology modeling, and research and development programs, by benchmarking and validating the performance of light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicles. Testing is especially intensive in the Pacific Northwest. INL has a goal of creating a national test bed in the Northwest for advanced technology vehicles.
During the conference you will hear from INL’s Associate Director, Bill Rogers, who leads the delegation of INL technical talent, and Jim Francfort, who runs the AVTA program. Bob Royer, Partner in the Seattle office at Gallatin Public Affairs, is helping INL with its relationships with local and state government, providing media support and coordinating INL’s conference activities.

Really hope they can get a webcast going for at least a portion of this. It’s about ‘beyond oil’ right? I’m saving oil by not flying/driving there ; - )
