Is Idaho’s technology sector left out of Gov. Butch Otter’s world? This vision leaves out those companies who are not aimed at farming, mining and logging, said Mark Rivers, a Downtown Boise developer who opened the innovative business incubator the Water Cooler. It discourages the very creative people who are the raw material of the next economic boom. http://bit.ly/butchotter

Here ye, here ye… I call an alliance against styling for IE. It has been a headache ever since about 2000 when new browsers started popping up and kicking IE in the arse. Firefox took the reigns for awhile and now Google Chrome dominates speed and lightweight browsing. IE has never stepped up their game with the new design standards and gives us front end developers a run around with styling.

Have you had nightmares with Internet Explorer? What is your favorite browser?

I find IE 8 isn’t too bad, but overall Internet Explorer is almost always a thorn. I know some still support 6, but I gave that up a while ago. Firefox is my browser of choice, but I do find myself opening up Chrome more and more.

I was excited to hear Obama initially talk about giving small business & entrepreneurs a bit more attention.

I wonder what kind of impact the administration has had on the nation’s startups & small businesses?

I know what kind of impact (the attention) had on my friends small business. He employed 10 people, and had work though the middle of next year on the books, but could not get a loan to save the business and had to file bankruptcy due to another business not paying their bill. Not much incentive for banks to release some loans from the ”bailout money”. They’re just fine and look good on their books and that’s all they’re concerned with.
