TechBoise Meetup Tuesday 4/29/08
We are hosting our next TechBoise event on April 29th (next Tuesday) at 5:30 at The Fixx on the corner of 10th and Bannock.
How can tech entrepreneurs effect politics?
We actually have a program (by popular demand).
I have asked John Foster, formerly the Editor of the Idaho Business Review Executive Director of the Idaho Democratic Party and is now the communications director forWalt Minnick’s campaign for Congress. I’ve also asked Sid Vicious Smith the Executive Director of the Idaho Republican Party.
Unfortunately Sid will be in DC so he recommended I contact Jayson Ronk, the former Executive Director of the Idaho Republican Party, and is now at IACI. I haven’t heard back from Jayson yet but I think it might be fun to have John and Jayson, the two former competitors present together
The purpose of the night will be to generate some good discussion around:
a) what can a group of tech entrepreneurs do to help politicians understand our needs
b) what do tech entrepreneurs need to know about the political process
I’m really excited about Tuesday. I’m expecting our best turn out ever, so let me know if you’re planning on coming.

*Updated John’s role on the Minnick campaign. He’s not leading the campaign just the communications.
*Update II: It looks like Jayson will not be able to make it either because of a prior engagement. john must have scared all the republicans off
j/k. Jayson did volunteer to meet with us a later date. Maybe we’ll have to break this theme into two sessions; a left and right wing version, lol.
One slight change there, Tac. I am the communications director for the campaign. The boss is the very bright and very able Adam Harris.
John thanks for the clarification. Although we all know that ‘he who controls the communication controls the campaign’
I’m planning to attend.
I plan on being there.
sounds great Tac - I’ll be there (heck - it is right across the street - if I didn’t show up that would be lame!)
Tac - I’m going to have to cancel.
I´ll plan to be there too.
