TSheets is using their blog to hire a copywriter

Are you a copywriter familiar with blogging and all things Web 2.0? If so, Matt Rissell, the CEO of the local Saas time sheet company is asking interested applicants to submit a blog post.

TSheets is looking for a “Rock Star” Copywriter - instead of reading a ridiculous number of resumes, I’d prefer to give you the chance to show your stuff! Simply write a blog post about TSheets and the best written post will receive $500 and an opportunity to be a copywriter on the TSheets team!

You can read the whole story on his blog post (of course). He’s even submitted his original blog post to viral social networking site Digg.

It’ll be interesting to see if anything comes of it. If nothing else it’s a very low cost way of drumming up some publicity about his company.

What do you think? Is this an effective way to recruit?
